Complete challenges to earn Legacy points, then unlock perks and cosmetic rewards for every character.

Legacy unlocks with your first account-wide Legacy point. Reach level 25, train a non-gathering primary profession to 150, or explore the full world map on one character to earn it. Secondary professions such as Cooking and First Aid do not satisfy the profession condition.

At launch there are 65 Legacy challenges across six categories—class, professions, PvP, adventure, dungeons, and raids. Each completed challenge grants 1 Legacy point.

Each character independently spends account-wide points across three trees: Professions, Adventure, and Resourcefulness. The launch spending cap is 16 points per character, achievable without additional characters.

Accumulated points also unlock toys, pets, and other cosmetics. Non-Hardcore rulesets share collections and Legacy points. Hardcore progress can carry out, but progress from other rulesets cannot carry in.

Since the October 8 international Beta update, every Beta tester has a completed Beta-only Legacy challenge worth 16 points, and Beta respecs start at 1 silver, with the cost stepping down each hour. This testing grant is not a launch challenge, so Legacy Planner leaves it out. The Legacy article lists Talented, which unlocks talent points up to 5 levels early; the 1.60.1.70291 client now publishes it as an Adventure choice perk that starts talent points at level 9, 8, 7, 6 or 5 instead of 10.
