The City of Dalaran dungeon opens for testing, dungeon experience rises, and Rage from damage taken is corrected.

Blizzard published the notes on October 8 at 21:32 UTC, after Beta realm maintenance. The new client is 1.60.1.70291; the site’s talents, Spellbook, Legacy and profession data now use its tables.

The new City of Dalaran dungeon is available for testing; see its dungeon guide. Dungeon creatures award about 20% more experience. In a party, experience from lower-level enemies is again based on each member’s own level, as in Classic Era, rather than on the highest-level member; nobody gains experience if a member is far above the enemy’s level. Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield adds that optimal dungeon leveling should now be close to, but not faster than, optimal questing.

Several bugs in Rage gained from taking damage are fixed, and Rage gains are rebalanced for 20–40% armor depending on level rather than tank armor, so most Warriors and Druids should gain more Rage. Druid critical strikes now generate 100% more Rage (was 75%), Bear Form threat rises to 50%, and Predatory Instincts becomes Natural Instinct, which also increases spell healing from Intellect.

Early ranks of Wrath, Frostbolt, Fireball, Arcane Missiles, Smite, Lesser Heal, Heal, Lightning Bolt and Shadow Bolt are retuned so each new rank is an upgrade. Penance damage and healing drop to fix a channel-length bug, and its rank 1 Mana cost rises 50%. Thorns and Retribution Aura return to original base damage with a 6% spell power ratio. Deep Wounds is again required for Impale, Expose Prey lasts 10 seconds, and Demoralizing Shout and Demoralizing Roar now generate threat.

Every Beta tester receives a 16-point Legacy challenge to test the system, and Beta Legacy respecs start at 1 silver. The Cooldown Manager now supports all classes, racial abilities and trinkets. PvP critical strikes are no longer reduced, several dungeon quest rewards drop from Rare to Uncommon, and the new Gelkis and Magram quests in Desolace now require level 35.

The level cap is unchanged at 30. New known issues are listed in Beta Known Issues.
